It’s competition time !

The campervan-daft among you will no doubt be aware of the quirky appeal that is Kludoman.  Kludoman is Karl Udo White, a British teacher, artist, musician and surfer who has successfully self-published his range of VW colouring books.

He’s just brought out his latest colouring book and I have a copy to give away to one lucky winner of the Kludo Campervan Competition !   See below for how to enter.

This cool colouring book is full of Kludo’s quirky campervan illustrations to colour yourself calm as you dream of life on the open road.  Here, there are no colouring rules; just follow your imagination and see where it leads.

Kludo has been drawing things since he was very small.   His earliest memories are happy family holidays in a VW campervan and his first car (at 14) was a Beetle.  He has owned and driven campervans of all types for twenty years and still can’t fix them or keep them going on his own (but they usually have a nice paint job.)  In 2005 he moved to a bungalow by the sea and started painting, drawing and surfing, in earnest.  He sings about surfing and campervans on his recent albums, memorable songs including Home is where you park it, Campervan Man and Splitscreen Driver.  Just the thing for cruising to the beach or the festival.  You can follow Kludo on Twitter @campervanradio.

So, to enter the competition, all you need to do is:

  • come up with an imaginative name for the colourful campervan on the front cover of Kludo’s latest book, the Freedom Collection
  • send me your entry by 24th June 2016 using the ‘Get in Touch’ form on the right hand side of this page.

The entries will be judged by a panel comprising my son (aged 11) and daughter (aged 15).  The judges’ decision will be final , absolutely no bribes will be accepted and only one entry per person please.  Make sure you include your e-mail address and I’ll send the prize to the winner shortly after the closing date.

May the most creative camper win !

  1. Thanks Steve. A great name! If you don’t mind I’m going to delete your comment after this reply so it doesn’t influence other people’s entries. In fact, if you can use the form on the rhs of the page to send me this again I’ll then get your e-mail address (in case you’re the winning entry). Thanks again.

  2. Hi Steve, I’ve just found your e-mail address so no need to send me a separate e-mail. I’ll still delete your entry in any case.
